Administrative Changes Announced

University of Delaware Provost Dan Rich recently announced that starting January 1, 2005, Carolyn Thoroughgood, dean of the College of Earth, Ocean, and Environment, will become acting vice provost for research for a period of one year while Fraser Russell is on sabbatical leave. Nancy Targett, professor of marine biology-biochemistry, will serve as acting dean of the college.

Coast Day, set for Sunday, October 3, is coming fast! This year, the annual essay contest for Delaware fifth-graders challenges youngsters to write about a day in the life of their favorite marine critter. Winners will receive savings bonds and books, and their teachers will receive classroom resources.
