Hi, I’m David Shin, Ph.D., a National Institutes of Health (NIH) postdoctoral fellow in the laboratory of John Tainer, Ph.D., at The Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla, California. Together with Craig Cary, Ph.D., we received the 3rd Annual Discovery
Grant Award from the company Incyte, who has agreed to make special DNA libraries from the worm Alvinella pompejana. Using these libraries, we will then detemine the structures of key DNA repair systems involved in cancer, with the ultimate goal of developing new anti-cancer therapies.
