Lisa Perelli has joined the University of Delaware College of Marine Studies as academic affairs coordinator. She replaces Doris Manship, who retired in December 2004 after over 30 years of service with the college.
As academic affairs coordinator, Perelli will assist students with their academic needs, beginning with their application to the college and continuing through graduation and beyond, and act as a liaison between the students and the faculty as well as with other administrative offices within the university. She also will work on developing marketing and recruiting campaigns for the college and help streamline these processes, particularly through the use of technology.
“The opportunity to work with graduate students along with a distinguished faculty and a devoted staff was too good to pass up,” says Perelli. “I also was attracted to the programs the college offers as well as the fact that significant research is going on in my own backyard.”
Prior to joining the college, Perelli was the director of career services at Wesley College in Dover, Delaware, where she provided career counseling and developed workshops that explored topics such as skills assessment, career choices, and employment readiness. In addition, she is active in the Mid-Atlantic Career Counseling Association.
Perelli is currently working on her master’s degree in library and information science at Syracuse University in Syracuse, New York. In 1984, she earned her bachelor’s degree in English from Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, New York.
Perelli’s office is in Cannon Laboratory on the Lewes campus. She resides in Lewes.
