Each year, readers of Delaware Sea Grant’s Reporter newsletter have the opportunity to take the publication’s readership survey and be entered to win the Coastal Prize Package.
This year’s lucky winner was Roger Lunbeck, of Wilmington. He will receive a bundle of goodies as part of the prize package, including a stay at the University of Delaware’s Virden Center in Lewes, a Coast Day Crab Cake Cookbook, a UD shirt, and much more.
Thrilled to hear he had won, Lunbeck said he is a regular attendee of Delaware Sea Grant’s Coast Day. He attended the 2009 event with his six-year-old great-granddaughter, who especially enjoyed the Marine Critter Touch Tanks, he said.
Reporter encourages Delawareans to become informed, get involved, and stay connected through the various programs of the college and Sea Grant. It is published annually by Delaware Sea Grant and UD’s College of Earth, Ocean, and Environment (CEOE).
The publication’s 2010 theme, “Making the Most of Our Coast,” puts the spotlight on specific issues facing our coast with articles on marshes and coastal communities, coastal technology, and alternative energy. It also highlights community outreach programs such as Delaware Sea Grant’s water quality and coastal hazards initiatives.
The annual report was distributed to the public as an insert in The Wilmington News Journal in June. You can sign up to receive the 2011 Reporter in the mail and take next year’s readership survey by e-mailing MarineCom@udel.edu.
