Free bus shuttle service to and from Coast Day 2010 is being offered to University of Delaware students, employees, and members of their immediate families.
Sponsored by the University of Delaware’s College of Earth, Ocean, and Environment (CEOE) and the Delaware Sea Grant College Program, Coast Day is a free event that celebrates Delaware’s coastal resources and UD’s marine research. It will be held Sunday, Oct. 3, rain or shine, at UD’s Hugh R. Sharp Campus in Lewes from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Buses will depart from the Robinson Hall parking lot at the Newark campus at 9:30 a.m. and arrive in Lewes at approximately 11 a.m. They will depart from Lewes at 4:30 p.m. and return to Newark by 6 p.m.
Reservations are necessary to secure a spot and must be made by 4 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 30, by calling the Marine Public Education Office at 302-831-8083.
Coast Day events include a number of fun, educational activities around this year’s theme, “Making the Most of Our Coast.” Join us to take part in seafood seminars, research demonstrations, ship tours, marine critter touch tanks, a crab cake cook-off, and much more.
