The Delaware Sea Grant College Program, in partnership with the City of Lewes and ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability USA, will host an evening presentation on climate change and community resiliency.
The seminar will take place at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20, in Room 104 of Cannon Lab at the University of Delaware’s Hugh R. Sharp Campus in Lewes. The event is free, but reservations are required.
Delivering the lecture will be Missy Stults, climate adaptation manager with ICLEI. Stults’ presentation will touch on ICLEI's Climate Resilient Communities program and highlight strategies communities across the United States are taking to prepare for climate change. She also will provide information on an ongoing pilot project with the City of Lewes, emphasizing how climate change could impact local communities and identifying strategies individuals and the city government can take to build resilience. No prior knowledge of climate change or climate adaptation is needed.
While the event is free, seating is limited and reservations are required. For reservations contact Michelle Scorziello at mkscorzi@udel.edu or 302-645-4346. Light refreshments will be served.
