Weiwei Zhang

Research Assistant

I am a graduate student in the Oceanography Program. One of my research tools is Regional Ocean Modeling System, and I am also a heavy user of remote sensing data, especially altimeter and microwave.

Research Interests

Large-scale ocean circulation in marginal seas

Eddy flux and heat transport in the ocean

Ocean modeling

Research Projects

The winter convection and restratification in the Labrador Sea, based on numerical experiments and in situ observations

Eddy identification and tracking from numerical model output and other gridded data

Eddy kinetic energy mapping and analysis from along-track altimeter data
