As Director of the Gerard J. Mangone Center for Marine Policy, I organize and administer a program of research, policy analysis, advice-giving to governmental and non-governmental organizations, conferences, and publications, usually entailing 10 to 15 projects per year. Major Center research themes in the past five years have been: Integrated coastal management-cross national studies; U.S. national ocean and coastal policy; implementation of Earth Summit agreements; marine biotechnology policy; ecosystem management and GIS/remote sensing applications; offshore marine aquaculture.
